TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (September 1, 2017) – Tallahassee Community College women's basketball standout Aryn Tarver has signed a national letter of intent with Texas Southern University.

Tarver, a native of Charlotte, N.C., completed her playing career with Coach Franqua "Q" Bedell's Eagles in March and graduated from TCC last month.

Tarver, a six-foot-three center, appeared in 19 games before a knee injury ended her 2016-17 season. In her abbreviated sophomore campaign, Tarver averaged 5.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks.

She enjoyed the best game, arguably, of her career on January 10 against defending national champion Gulf Coast State College, recording a double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks) in the Eagles' 89-78 victory.

Tarver averaged 4.3 points and 2.7 rebounds as a freshman in 2014-15 then sat out the 2015-16 campaign. For her career, she appeared in 49 games and averaged 4.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.9 blocks.

Texas Southern, an NCAA Division I program, is located in Houston, Texas, and competes in the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

Former Tallahassee assistant coach T.J. Royals serves on the Lady Tigers' staff in the same capacity.
