TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 14, 2017) – Tallahassee Community College’s women’s basketball team will host the Capital Courtyard Classic Tuesday-Thursday, November 14-16.
All games will take place at the Bill Hebrock Eagledome. General admission is $5 daily.
The seven-team field will be a mix of high school and college teams playing a total of eight games over the three days.
Games are scheduled for 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday; 11 a.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday; and 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday.
In addition to Tallahassee, the college half of the event will feature Panhandle Conference rival Chipola College and IMG Academy.
Lincoln High School headlines the four high school participants and will be joined by three strong independent programs – WestRidge Academy (Kernersville, N.C.), IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) and TPLS Christian Academy (Midlothian, Va.).
WestRidge, coached by former NBA and Wake Forest standout Delaney Rudd, and TPLS, led by former Virginia Tech star Mike Davis, will tip off the classic at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Lincoln and IMG will play the nightcap at 8 p.m.
In Wednesday’s 11 a.m. game, the Tallahassee women, 4-0 and ranked No. 7 by the NJCAA and No. 2 in the Region 8 Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Poll, will play its home opener against IMG Academy.
By virtue of the early tip time, students from Sabal Palm and Bond Elementary Schools will attend as guests of the Eagles.
Wednesday’s evening session will feature high school action at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
TPLS and IMG will get Thursday’s action started at 11 a.m. followed by Chipola and IMG at 1 p.m.
WestRidge and Lincoln will play the final game of the Classic at 7 p.m.
