#TCCSoftball recognized by NFCA for classroom success

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (October 5, 2017) – Tallahassee Community College's softball team earned a top ten ranking among junior colleges in the Easton/NFCA Top 10 Academic Team rankings for the 2016-17 school year. 

The Eagles checked in at No. 10 in the junior college division with a cumulative team GPA of 3.480 in the Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 terms. 

Coach Patti Townsend's squad was previously honored for its classroom success by the NJCAA, earning honorable mention team recognition in July. 

In addition to the team award, eight members of the 2017 Eagles were named an NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete, including Elisa Cecchetti, Alyssa NeSmith and Brandie Callaway, who posted a 4.0 GPA during the 2016-17 school year.

Other student-athletes recognized by the NFCA included Brooke Bates, Samantha Malik, Raya Moncus, Callie Paine and Payton Parker.

Other members of the 2017 Eagles include Alycia Smith, Kristin Gunter, Cassidy Strickling, Kacie Dobyanski, Casey Durham and Jewliana Castillo.
