TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (May 4, 2017) – Tallahassee Community College outfielder/designated hitter Cole Vann has been named Region 8 Baseball Player of the Week for games played April 24-30.

Vann, a freshman from Colquitt, Ga., batted .500 (5-for-10) with three runs scored, one double, two home runs and 10 RBIs in three games during the voting period.

Vann’s efforts helped Tallahassee claim the Panhandle Conference Wild Card berth and, eventually, a bid to the NJCAA District/FCSAA State Tournament.

In the Eagles’ first must-win game last week on April 26, Vann went 3-for-5, finishing a triple shy of the cycle and drove in four runs in an 11-5 win over Northwest Florida State College.

The next day, he reached base four times – 1-for-3, three walks – and smacked a tenth-inning grand slam that proved to be the difference in a 10-8 win over Daytona State College in the FCSAA Wild Card Game.
